Inspired by Story Book

Last week when I was searching pictures on pinterest, I found a quote (I think it's from Winnie the Pooh). The way how the quote was presented like a story book, interests me and gave me idea to make card that look like a story book.

So I took out this Mama Elephant - Bear Hugs stamp set that I had for sometimes to have the image as a center of the story.
This is what I make as the interpretation:

I masked the watercolor paper with circle die cut and stamp the image inside the circle, and then I did my drawing for the landscape, trees, and shadow. I really wanted to draw a more sophisticated scene, but I need to do a lot of practices, so this is it.

Hope you like it and inspired. Have a nice day.

Watercolor - Sunflower

This week, I just want to do watercoloring. After several browsing and pinning, and seeing so many beautiful inspiration, I bought my new watercolor medium and brush at local painting store. But I guess I'm still uncomfortable using them. I tried two times with two different stamp images and end up in a trash. However, my daughter likes it for her manga drawing, so maybe I will just give it up for her.

Anyway, I decided to go back to my old collection of Ranger distress marker. I didn't plan to stamp the whole image of Stampendous Sweet Sunflower. With the help of post it notes paper, I did this layout:

I'd like to have the image embossed and since I wanted the sentiment to take part in the design, I choose big and bold sentiment from Hero Art Tassels. Like it!

Here's another look:

Nice weekend y'all.

Another Holiday Card

This is my second post of November and still with holiday card creation using Hero Arts supplies. I always like winter scene, but the truth is, I never knew if I would ever survive in winter since I live in tropical country my whole life. However, I just keep imagining a beautiful scenery about winter.

This card I'm about to show is using an old and new collection from Hero Arts stamp. The winter scene wood stamp is old and the sentiment is from new collection called: Joy to the World.

You can see that I'm still doing embossing to create the scene, but I did different color for the trees and deers. After several blending, I inked falling snow  using stencil from SSS. As a finishing touch, I adhered patterned paper strip, twine, and rhinestones.

By the way, I enter this card into Hero Arts holiday cardmaking challenge

Merry & Bright

November is here and holiday is coming. Honestly I don't know if I'll be able to share much of holiday cards these coming months. But this Hero Arts challenge is so hard to resist. It has been quite a while I don't do cardmaking, so this is a kick off start after sometimes.

I am using a combination of Christmas Crystal stamp set and Musical Collage. This is also a combination of embossing, coloring, and distressing technique. A lot of process involved, but I really enjoy it.

Ah, forgot to mention that I used liquid masking to create white spots in some areas. That's all for now. I hope you like it and good night.
