Getting to Know Me Blog Hop

Hi,
Recently I was tagged by Melania Deasy to join a blog hop called Getting to Know Me Blog Hop. Deasy is a popular card maker that has international recognitions. I'm serious. She started doing paper craft way before me and she was also one of my references in pretty designs. She is part of design teams from different brands, won many challenges, has her own digital designs, and winner of Gallery Idol 2013, what an accomplishment!. Thanks Deasy for tagging me to this blog hop.

In this blog hop, I don't necessary have to create card, which is good, because I barely had time last week to craft. However there are few questions that I have to answer so that you get to know me. Here we go:

About creative projects I am currently working on. Well, just cards. With my time and space limitation, it's difficult for me to commit making big projects like altered projects or scrapbooking pages. Even if I want to be part of design teams, I'm too afraid of not being able to deliver the projects on time. With a juggling between a full time job and a wife and a mom of three growing up children, and most of the times I can only doing crafting on weekend - because I have a bad eye sight during the night :(, you can see that I can't be so productive. However I always try to do publication submission, enter to some challenges, and sometimes taking orders.

Things that inspires my designs. Many things. I like to visit a creative heavenly place called pinterest. I like spying on my favorites designers' blog to search for ideas. I like to see beautiful photos or pictures in a way to transform them into card design.

My approach to each of my creative process. I really can't make it as a fixed methods. Sometimes I had to do sketching. Usually, when I come to an idea of making a project I have things in mind like what techniques I will do, which stamps I will use, what patterned paper will fit into the design, etc. Then I'll prepare all of that ingredients on my table and see if they match well. Sometimes I had to change plans in a process to make it better. And when I had to change plans, it could take forever to finish it, Gosh!

My design styles?. I really like simple things but beautiful. So, it would be clean and simple. But, as I like to try new techniques and apply them into my designs, I would sometimes going out of my comfort zones to create other styles.

My three must have crafting tools. Seriously, only three? I'll have to set apart my cardstocks, glue, paper trimmer, and my scissor because we can't make cards without them, can we? But I definitely can't live without stamps, patterned paper, and my big shot.

I'm really sorry that I don't have card to share this time. Let's hope that you can find cards from two adorable designers that I will tag here. They will make similar post next week. They are:

Tasnim Ahmed
She's one of my idols. Her cards are always pretty, giving creative approach and I bookmark her blog so that I can visit it regularly to check what's new. And I like to know that she starts her own design in Altenew. Way to go!

Dwita Siregar
She's my other references. I think she has been crafting for more than two decades! Not just paper crafts. She's a natural born teacher, very generous friend and an active person, and her passion is to share.

That's all from me.

Hugs, kisses, and have a nice day.

Birthday Cards for Kids

I can't believe it's already September in 2014. Lately, I got a request from a friend to make ten birthday cards for kids aged 2-6 years old. Something beyond my comfort zone because I tend to enjoy making a serious cards for adult.

Anyway, I pulled out my "childish set" mostly from Paper Smooches and I'm going to share two of them.
First one comes from one of my favorites: Smarty Pants set. Very simple, just color the image and fuzzy cut, add a small chalkboard effect behind the image.  I enter this to Paper Smooches Sparks Challenge: Anything Goes.

The second one is without any stamp. Still using supplies from Paper Smooches. I use Balloons and Birthday Words die cut. I have my electronic die cut but still love my manual and can't never stop shopping die cutting template. My bad :(

I also enter this card to two challenge: Paper Smooches Sparks Challenge: Anything Goes and Cutting Edge Challenge #9, using this lovely card as inspiration:

Have a nice day.
