(Another) One Layer Card

This is my second post today. Scroll down or click here to read my previous post. I'm on long holiday until Sunday due to Eid Mubarak. Today I made this card for Hero Arts One Layer Challenge. I'm using an old collection stamp that I just bought, it's called Hero Arts Hydrangea wood stamp. I can recall that at least I made two cards using this image in one week. I really like it.

I mask the rectangle on card base, stamp hydrangea, and emboss. Watercolor with pencil and blend softly with distress ink. Remove the masking paper, stamp sentiment, and finally draw border. Quite simple.
See you.

Watercolor Stamping

When designing in a card, I tend to make clean and simple design. However everytime I see watercolor painting like these on Pinterest, I'm dying to try them on my next card project, which sometimes not clean and simple.

My father was a painter. He liked to draw natural object like flowers, scenery, fruits. Unfortunately, I didn't inherit his talent. I had so much struggle whenever I do watercolor stamping. This card I'm about to show is one of them.

I waste LOTS OF white papers to admit this look, and still, I'm not really satisfy with the result. Never imagine I would do that. I almost gave up trying. And you know what? I think I won't be able to make another one similar.

I'm using Mama Elephant - Central Park clear stamp for the building and the carriage. I stamp on wet paper with distress ink. Be careful not to add so much water. For the tree, I'm using Hero Arts from Helloween collection (forget the name). I did a lot of blending with water to keep the image as natural as possible. As this already a busy image, I just mat it on cardbase.

So, is it worth to try? For me, I'll be practicing more often.
Have a nice weekend.

The Cutting Edge Challenge #2

Happy Thursday,
I made this card yesterday during my day off and I want to enter to the cutting edge challenge #2.
Using this image as inspiration:

Originally I wanted to die cut something else than building or cityscape. It seems that I've made an uncountable creations with building/ cityscape as main image. However, while in a process of making, I wasted too much paper and never satisfied with the result. It made me grab again my Cityscape dies from Memory Box :).
Thanks for looking.

One Layer Card

Hi everyone,
It's been quite sometimes I didn't enter to any challenges. Now it's time to one layer card challenge by Hero Arts. Seriously, I enter to this, just because the theme is 'one layer'. I was thinking of something simple, quick, and less messy to make. And that was right. I made this less than half an hour.

First I position masking tape on card base and stamp Hero Arts - International Skyline with black ink. Then I emboss Hero Arts - Magical Background with clear embossing, start to blend. Remove masking tape. Stamp sentiment, done!.
See, very quick. You should enter as well. It opens until August 10th.

Have a nice day.
