3rd Round Gallery Idol 2014

Yes, I made it to the top 15 of Gallery Idol 2014! Seriously, it was a tough competition. Everyone was doing their best and they did an awesome job. What's good from this competition is that we make friends among ourselves. We don't feel as we were competitors, on a contrary, we support each other.

The theme for this 3rd round is using stencil. Stenciling is quite popular these days and for that reason, it's quite challenging in a way that it has to be creative yet beautiful.
Did you notice that making one card and cooking for the big family gathering has the same effect of creating a total mess in the house? Well, it applies for me. I put so much heart of making this card that I had to mix and match colors, template, and images. I always struggle with design. Actually I made two cards for this round, and after comparing, asking opinion, and taking photos, I'd go with this one:

I use Hero Arts stencil - Tweed Pattern. I don't have many stencil collections. I don't even have modelling paste. So I applied various colors of distress ink on patterned paper panel to obtain this ombre effect. After that, I applied gesso in some areas. For the image, I heat emboss poppies from Delicate Blossom stamp by Hero Arts and then watercolor them. Fuzzy cut and adhere to panel.

Now, If you think I deserve a spot at a top ten of Gallery Idol 2014, vote for me here. If you new to this, you must create a user name. It's very simple, just a-less-than-five minutes process. Find my card at #14.
Thanks again for visiting.
