2nd Round Gallery Idol 2014

These past days have been an upside-down for me. I was so surprised that I made into Gallery Idol 2014 finalist along with another 19 talented ladies. You can see the news here.  I didn't expect that 2nd round voting starts today (May 26th), as we only had 2 days to make a card with die cutting as main focus.

For those who doesn't know what Gallery Idol is, it is a card making contest created by Paper Crafts & Scrapbooking magazine adopted from a famous American Idol TV show. The 20 finalists were selected and each week we are challenged to make something at any given specific theme. There will be an online voting to chose who will be able to go to the next round.

You can vote here. But first, you must create a user name. You don't have to make a new account if you have it from previous year. Anyway, voting starts Monday (26/May) through Thursday (29/May). This is what I made for the contest:
Here I combined manual die cuts and electronic. First I created a watercolor background with diluted distress ink and water. I trimmed that watercolor background into panel and manual die cut to create building compound using Hero Arts dies - Skyline. I also die cut from patterned paper to create clouds with my Silhouette and country landscape with Memory Box dies. Arrange every pieces, and finally stamp the sentiment.

Seriously, every single cards in the group are fabulous. Thank God I don't have to vote. However, if you feel like falling into my card, just vote for it. I really appreciate it. My card is at number 20.

Thanks for looking.

Decorative Tape for Galery Idol 2014

It's good to be back here again. I know, it has been one month now that I let my crafty supplies remained untouched. My messy table makes my mood went away, however I have to create something otherwise I will lose my skill.
What forced me to create is Gallery Idol 2014 that will end it's audition tomorrow. This event is too big to be ignored and I'd like to test my luck here.
I managed to do three cards. All using decorative tape as main element as it's required in the contest.

This is a 4.75 by 4.75 inch card. I use washi for the flowers, leaves and the border. Sentiment is from Hero Arts and patterned paper is from Pink Paisley Color Wash collection.

This standard-sized card uses washi tape behind the die cut sentiment, the stripes here and there, also to wrap my stars wood veneer. The patterned paper panel is from Pink Paisley Color Wash collection.

This is a 4.5 by 6 inch card. I use washi for the flowers, confetti and stripes at the bottom. Sentiment is from Wplus9 Design and again patterned paper is from Pink Paisley Color Wash collection (I can't help it, the collection is so adorable!).

Now, I'm crossing my fingers. Have a nice day.
